Gran Canaria or Canary Islands is located in the Atlantic Ocean roughly 90miles off the north west coast of Africa. Gran Canaria is the second most populated island of the Canary Islands after Tenerife, and the third largest in area after Tenerife and Fuerteventura.
Canaria is home to a wealth of natural resources the beaches have white sand and some are known to be completely unique in the world. The temperate climate and agreeable temperatures of the waters make it possible to enjoy sun bathing and swimming on beaches throughout the year.
The Playa del Ingles a town in the south on the coast has a nice long beach made of high sand dunes, and is connected with the other beach towns including San Agustín and Maspalomas in the tourist centre of the island.
Tourists can find find time to relax, enjoy sport, adventure, culture, gastronomy and shopping and enjoy moments surrounded by scenery and within a peaceful environment , there are local buses that run regularly between the airport and Playa del Inglés.
Also there is a local taxis available, the fares should be no more than 35 Euros from the airport to the Playa del Inglés. It is well placed next to the shopping centres, bars and restaurants.
Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria and the most populated of all the cities on the islands, it has a sub tropical climate meaning its temperatures can be warm throughout the year.
There are alot of museums in Las Palmas, theatres and historical buildings to enjoy while also taking a night out at the opera or a local concert.
